I WILL be reporting this FRAUDULENT charge to Discover card!Ĭharged $1,206.00 to my visa. Charge on my statement was for "Dining In 40 IL". It was a legitimate transaction, but pinged their "check this one" trigger.Ĥ6 comments about 40 at 91 call reported from 40.Ĭharged $249.75 to my Discover card. PayPal Fraud Department verifying a large transaction on my PayPal account. Some others, who use PayPal as a "bank" to receive money from their Ebay sales, apparently have had a different experience. And I suppose scammers could be spoofing the PayPal number for phishing purposes.
The phone number showed it was out of Omaha.ĭespite what others have said below, my call from this number was really from PayPal, resolving (in my favor) a dispute I had with a rug retailer.I only buy using PayPal and have found them very easy to deal with. IT WAS DEFINITELY A SCAM DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION. I called our rep and reported it to him and they are going to follow up. I had distinct background noises of a boiler room so this is not a small scam it is a HUGE scam. I told her that I would hang up and call our contact with Paypal and discuss it with the rep that answered the phone.if she was there I would talk to her.

She asked for the last 4 digits of our bank acct and I gave it to her then she asked for the full account number, at that point I began to question her for her name and employee number. This person who's name is Golda said that we had not been making our payments which I knew to be false.
